Description

  • The spindle boxes develop early counting skills and develop the association between quantity and the number symbols 0-9.
  • Importantly, they teach the concept of zero.
  • The wooden boxes have ten numbered compartments into which the child counts the corresponding number of tactile wooden spindles.
  • Many people prefer the split spindle boxes as the numbers 0-4 can be isolated and taught first. They are also easier for a child to carry.
  • 45 shaped wooden spindles (not plain rods) are supplied in the separate wooden box shown.
  • ELG: Count reliably up to 10 everyday objects. Recognise numerals 1 to 9.
